The traditional lip lift technique is called the Bullhorn lift because of its shape. This technique removes the maximum skin from the middle of the upper lip then tapers towards the ends. One of the disadvantages of this technique is that the lips become triangular, creating the “bunny look”. This is acceptable for young girls but not adult women or men. Another disadvantage occurs in the subgroup of people who have depressed corners of their lip. The bullhorn lift accentuates the frowning effect making them look angry or upset.
WHAT IS THE HORNDESKI LIP LIFT?
A new technique is required to correct these disadvantages. The Horndeski Lip Lift extends the incision to the lateral sides of the nostrils. More skin is excised laterally than centrally pulling up the corners of the lip. The triangular bunny look and frowning are eliminated. Separate incisions are not required to lift the corners.
